An Industrial visit to Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC), Mohali was organized by the department of Electronics and Communication on 18 June, 2019 for the 3rd semester students of AB & CD sections. The visit was coordinated by Er Meenakshi and Er Mamta Janagal.
As part of the mandate given to C-DAC, Mohali to generate manpower to address the growing demand for trained manpower in the extremely fast moving sector of Electronics & Information Technology C-DAC, Mohali has established its ACSD (Academic & Consultancy Services Division). ACSD has been providing high-end training in the field of hardware and software, running M.Tech programmes along with its Research and Development activities in various fields viz., Electronics Product Design & Technology (EPDT), Very Large Scale Integration (VLSI) Design, Embedded Systems (ES) and Information Technology (IT). It has well established labs for practical work like Bio- medical lab and security services lab. Their wide range of products, services and solutions are designed to cater to a large market ranging from health care systems, data warehousing, multimedia and multilingual technologies, networking solutions to technical consultancy, training and e-Governance solutions.
Students visited the Bio medical Lab and Cyber Security Lab and learnt different aspects of corporate world, technical and non technical. Students were highly motivated to gain practical exposure of equipments and tools during this industrial visit.
During this visit an expert lecture was scheduled and the expert lecture was delivered by
Dr. Balwinder Singh Head, ACS Division on new technologies of electronics in different areas like agriculture, health care etc.
