CENTER OF EXCELLENCE-ADVANCED ANTENNA AND RADIATING SYSTEM LAB(MODROB LAB)
The fundamental goal of Antenna and Radiating System Lab is to set the mindfulness and significance of successful and productive correspondence framework by Antenna. Its objective is become a leading research and development group in Antenna Design and RF systems. HFSS Software is utilized for planning and reproduction reason. As of now, HFSS programming is utilized to acclimate students with the design of antenna, antenna arrays, microwave transitions, waveguide components, RF filters, RF MEMS Switch, three dimensional discontinuities and passive circuit elements. With the fruition of the lab tasks, the B. Tech and M. Tech students can learn designing and simulation of various antennas, antenna arrays and RF Microwave components for high frequency Application. In this lab students are able to do the following work:
- Simulation of different microwave components using ANSYS Designer and HFSS.
- Simulation of different types of basic Antennas using ANSYS HFSS (Wire and Planar).
- Circuit layout Design and optimization using ANSYS Designer.
Strength: Students work on ANSYS HFSS software to solve problems on various wideband, wearable & smart antennas and RF components for their research work and as well as to fulfill industry requirements.

Center of Excellence -Drone Lab
Center of Excellence for Drone has been established in Electronics & Communication Engineering Department as a part of agreement among Fly-X Aerospace Pvt. Limited, Lucknow and CEC-CGC Landran. Fly-X Aerospace Pvt. Limited offers a complete sales-service-support module for the drone system in India and is actively implementing Unmanned Arial vehicles i.e. drone for government departments with diverse range of segments. The alliance will facilitate teaching, training and research activities to the students of institute and nearby region. The department wants to make the drone technology accessible to everyone by giving hand on exposure to students and preparing them for an excellent future in drone industry. The department is in process of designing hybrid drone, delivery drone, Endurance Drones, military, agriculture based drone and many more.
Objectives:
- Basic and intermediate learning about drone technology.
- Fabrication, designing and flying testing of basic UAVs.
- Flight simulation practice through virtual pc simulators.
- R&D on civil &defense drone applications
In this lab students are able to do the following work:
- Design and analysis of high performance of hybrid drones.
- To increase motor efficiency by using different propellers on same motors.
- Fabricate and tested stability of Quad, Hexa and Octa copters.
- To learn drone flying using flight simulators.
- Design and testing drone structure for agro applications
- Testing different power sources to increase endurance.
Strength: Students work on 6-8 different drone structures available in drone lab. They fabricate programme flight controllers and test flight stability based on applications.

This Center of Excellence (COE) is equipped with various National Instruments (NI) Hardware and LabVIEW (Laboratory Virtual Instruments Engineering Workbench) software that provides the platform fortraining, interdisciplinary research, projects and industrial solutions. This provides opportunities to enhance the knowledge and skills at aprofessional level.

Research Cell
Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering was established to make our students globally competitive in research, in the field of Electronics and Communication Engineering and make the students blossom into meritorious and self-disciplined engineers by hard work. Electronics and Communication engineering is a swiftly advancing field, with new ideas emerging every other second.
The Research cell provides a conducive environment to the students for thinking their ideas and get them converted as a form of product/prototype. This lab is utilized not only for students B.Tech Project but also for making projects for the benefit of society and competitive projects. This lab is certified by Texas Instruments under Texas Institute University program. Under this collaboration we are providing various technical training in the form of workshop, student activity, project and competitive events. The output of their work is reflected as scripted in publications, patents and Product. We are trying to march ahead to the next decade with stronger commitment to our R & D goal.
ANALOG AND DIGITAL COMMUNICATION LAB (ADC LAB)
The purpose of this lab is to explore analog and digital communications using advanced ISO certified kits. The laboratory is designed and developed to provide students with hands-on experiences related to communications engineering courses. This laboratory supports undergraduate and postgraduate students in their courses and related projects. Lab covers analog to digital conversions, pulse shaping, sampling, digital modulation and Time division multiplexing/De-multiplexing related kits.
Digital System Design (DSD) lab
In present scenario, digital electronics are applied in many diverse areas such as telephony, data processing, radar, navigation, military system etc. This lab is intended for practicing the theoretical knowledge by designing and understanding basic gates, Adder, Subtractor, Encoders, Decoders, Multiplexers and Demultiplexers etc. The main objective of this lab is to serve as a platform for designing combinational and sequential logic circuits and to study various timer circuits. A brief idea of different digital ICs is provided. The students also learn the uses of various flip-flops, synchronous & asynchronous counters, bidirectional registers, parity generators & parity checkers and the magnitude comparator. This lab is equipped with equipments like Digital IC logic Trainers, Digital IC Testers, A/D converter and D/A converter kits.
Project Lab
The main purpose of Project Lab is to simulate day to day situations interrelated to ECE and imparts enough training so that confidence to tackle and face any difficulty in the field is developed in the college itself. The project work so chosen by the student shall culminate in gaining of major design experience in the related area of specialization. As a discipline, projects of ECE majorly focus on the design of underlying hardware systems. Each project will cover all the aspects (to the extent possible) like investigation, designing, coding detailing, implementation of a Electronics and Communication circuits / systems, while encouraging development of necessary skills for integration of hardware and software components. Additionally, a few research problems identified in laboratories may also be taken as a project work. Projects undertaken by students are based on following research areas:
Microprocessor and Microcontroller Lab
Microprocessor and Microcontroller lab is designed in such a way that the students get hands on familiarity with the concepts they come across in the theory of MPMC. The Lab is well equipped with both hardware and software (Keil) facilities required by the students to perform the necessary experiments designed for this lab. Various 8085 Microprocessor Kits, 8051 Microcontroller Kits, ADC/DAC interfacing cards, Stepper motor and DC motor Interfacing Cards etc helps the students to attain the practical knowledge and implement it on various projects for societal needs.
Analog Circuits Lab
Analog circuits lab promotes and guide students about circuit concepts.In this lab student learn about different special purpose diodes and studies their characteristics along with the applications. Step wise knowledge about electronic components and circuits is imparted. Taking one step ahead, common emitter amplifier is studied. Students gain knowledge of amplifiers distributed in different classes according to their output like class A, class B, class AB, class B push pull amplifiers etc. Concept of oscillations and different oscillators (like RC phase shift, Hartley, Colpitt’s oscillators) are analyzed.
Microwave and Antenna(MWA) Lab
Microwave and Antenna laboratory pertains to the study and design of microwave circuits, components, and systems. Fundamental principles are applied to analysis, design and measurement techniques in this field. This Lab makes students aware of the practical aspect of Microwave and antenna and presents the essential features of Microwave and Antenna. Inexpensive components and digital communications in the microwave domain have opened up areas pertinent to this discipline. Some of these areas are radar, satellite, wireless radio, optical communication, faster computer circuits, and collision avoidance radar.
Optical Fiber Communication(OFC) Lab
Optical Fiber Communication technologies underpin many of the services and devices that are a part of modern society from the ubiquitous smart phone that is wirelessly connected to the optical communications network through to photonic and wireless sensors that enable devices such as optical mice and RF identity cards. Optical Fiber Communication lab in department is well equipped with equipments that provide students a design and evaluation environment for the study of telecommunication systems as well as wireless and optical networks. The lab also has facilities for designing network hardware, software, components and applications.
PCB Design Lab
The PCB is widely used in fabrication of electronics as well as electrical circuits since they provide a base for the connections amongst various components used in that particular circuit. This lab is of utmost importance as this lab is used for the design and development of major and minor projects of the department. Both single layered and multilayered PCBs can be developed in this lab. The PCBs are developed first by designing the layout; then negative is prepared from lithographic film. The PCB is developed through dip coating machine, drying in the oven, developing in UV light then. After the etching, drilling is done to mount the components on the developed PCB Board.
Machine Vision Lab
The key objective of setting up Machine Vision (MV) lab is to provide faculty and students an opportunity to work on the latest aspects of research in the area of Computer Vision. Computer vision is the science and technology of making machines that see. It is concerned with the theory, design and implementation of algorithms that can automatically process visual data to recognize objects, analyze, track and recover their shape and spatial layout.MV lab provides students an opportunity to learn an integrated approach for solving machine vision application problems. The students and faculty examine the options in combining different algorithms to achieve the overall goal.
Linear Integrated Circuit Lab
Linear Integrated Circuit Laboratory is providing a platform for the designing of various applications of operational amplifiers and analog integrated circuits. Various experiments performed include the basic op-amp principles and show how the op-amp can be used to solve a variety of application problems. This lab is equipped with lab station includes a DC power supply, CRO, DSO, function generators and a quality DMM.
Mentoring & Professional Development Lab
This Lab is dedicated to the overall personality development of the students by incorporating various skills including reading, writing and general discussion so as to make them ready for their placements. Mentoring is more than ‘giving advice’, or passing on what your experience was in a particular area or situation. It's about motivating and empowering the other person to identify their own issues and goals, and helping them to find ways of resolving or reaching them - not by doing it for them, or expecting them to ‘do it the way I did it’, but by understanding and respecting different ways of working.
Service centre
Service centre is established within the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering to cater the needs of repair and maintenance of defective Electronic Equipment, Experimental kits of various labs, Power Supplies, SMPS, UPS, Test and Measuring Instruments.

ECE Department library is a provision of physical and virtual learning environment which supports study, research and recreational interests. Department Library manages knowledge, both in print and digital formats, ensures seamless discovery and access to these scholarly resources, and provides faculty, students, and staff with professional support to find, evaluate, manage, and use such resources. It has a collection of over 1000 documents comprising of books, thesis, journals, training reports which can be used by students as well as staff members. It provides excellent ambiance for both reflective and collaborative work and study. The collection of the library includes reference books pertaining to various subjects of Electronics and Communication Engineering and syllabus.Students and staff can access following database from the library.

ECE department is having well equipped, ultra-modern seminar hall with computer and audio visual equipment, Wi-Fi to facilitate the students and to smoothly conduct various departmental events ,workshops Guest Lectures and various other activities. The seminar has a total of 100 seating capacity.
Girls Common Room
The department is having very spacious common room for girls with proper sitting on first floor keeping in view the requirement of the female students . The common room is provided with good lightening system . Various facilities like books , newspapers ,magazines are available where girls can study , relax ,discuss their ideas in available free time .
