With more than 19 years of teaching and corporate experience Dr H S Saini carries a vision of transforming Chandigarh Engineering College, Landran into a hub of research and technology. He aspires to produce the best of engineers and researchers for making it a home to excellence.

He developed a top rank institution which under his guidance managed to achieve a rare distinction of being an NBA accredited institute. With a similar vision Dr. Saini has pledged to make Chandigarh Engineering College, Landran as Sate of Art research hub which will produce quality research scholars in near future. He also pledged that with the dedicated efforts of team members at CEC, he can repeat the achievement of getting accredited CEC from NBA within a short span of time. 

Holding M. Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering with distinction he has made a mark for himself in the field of education. He also holds the distinction of being the only Principal of an engineering college in the state of Punjab to have done his Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering. He did his doctorate in web based expert systems and has vast 10 years research experience in innovative fields such as knowledge management, web technologies and fuzzy logic systems. With a noble thought to take knowledge to the students, Dr. Saini acts a R&D mentor for Ph.D and M.Tech students. His guidance has inspired students to take hardcore software projects which ultimately lead to their successful placements in Microsoft R & D, Oracle, IBM

Dr. Saini being consultant to reputed MNC’s has lead the way in developing various softwares which are currently being marketed by them.  Being a lover of innovation Dr Saini initiated and implemented EduPlus (a SW project) for training managements and improved productivity, quality and results. He also designed and practiced state-of-art procedure to evaluate trainers and trainees to make trainings effective. He also started new trainings with ORACLE UNIVERSITY, PRAMATI TECHNOLOGIES (J2EE), Vitalscore and started GIST Labs (for incubation programs) and SW development.

Being a visiting professor to 2 reputed foreign universities he carries with himself a global vision to spread of education. Holding office bearer positions of  Secretary and Vice-Chairman in Computer Society of India and IEEE, Hyderabad respectively he has played a key role in the field of developmental science and technology keeping an eye at the future..
He has been a part of many National Conferences Specially National Conference of CSI(Computer Society of India) and Digital Convergence for Quality Education. Dr Saini published and edited book of proceedings for the same. He has been a reviewer of Indian Journals and has participated in and reviewed papers of above 10 National and International Conferences. He has published/presented research papers in National and International Journals/Conferences.
